Mon Oncle
If you are ever in the mood for watching something charming with a little bit of laughter, I suggest watching Mon Oncle. It is such a wonderful movie. I personally love watching it on my laptop while making breakfast. The song alone is absolutely beautiful. There is very little narrative, but watching the interactions of all the characters makes you learn more...in a way...

Cuba
I love the opulence of theaters and opera houses so naturally seeing a theater in a state of disrepair as great as this one was just as intriguing to me. Having the row of rickshaws replacing what I imagine would have been plush red velvet seats makes for an amazing and ghostly image. Who was the theater intended for and who uses it now? Obviously its function has changed. Finding this photo makes me think about how amazing it would be to visit Cuba. I would love to see it as it is today. I hope that Cuba and America can become peaceful, but I would love to see it before it becomes a trodden tourist destination. I think fanny pack donning, cargo short wearing tourists boarding buses takes away from the magic of experiencing another culture.

les danseuses

Vogue Italia, March 2008
This editorial is so gorgeous. I adore that the models blend in with the dancers since many of them also wear gowns of equal beauty. In addition, because their hair and makeup has been done in similar ways, it is not just another shoot where the models seem dislocated from their environment. With ballet and fashion being two of my great loves, it is no wonder that I instantly fell in love with this (I mean come on... Baryshnikov is in the opening shot!)

Are we there yet?
Desperate for sleep and Wednesday to be over... Floating down a lazy river is about all I can handle right now. Could time please stop... just for a bit? I would be eternally grateful.
